I’m about to head out to catch a flight to Montreal for Expozine 2008. Swing by and visit the New Reliable Press table and say: “What up?”

ANNOUNCING EXPOZINE 2008, MONTREAL’S SEVENTH ANNUAL SMALL PRESS, COMIC AND ZINE FAIR!

Expozine, Montreal’s annual small press, comic and zine fair, will take place on Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30, 2008, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 5035 St-Dominique [map]. Free admission.

This incredible event brings together over 250 creators of all kinds of printed matter — from books to zines to posters and comics — in both English and French. In the past seven years, Expozine has become one of North America’s largest small press fairs, attracting thousands of visitors as well as exhibitors from as far afield as Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa, and Quebec City!

At Expozine, one can discover a multitude of publications and printed works that are often difficult to find anywhere, much less all in the same room! The result is a rare opportunity to peruse the work of hundreds of young and emerging authors, publishers and artists, and to see what the winners of last year’s. Expozine Alternative Press Awards are up to. Not to be missed!

YANDs across Canada

On the weekend of October 25th & 26th several YAND3 folks will be in attendance at zine/small press shows in both Toronto and Halilfax.

Saturday, October 25th: Colleen MacIsaac will be at the Halifax Zine & Record Fair at 1537 Brunswick Street, from noon until 5pm. Check out the cover for her latest mini-comic here.

Sunday, October 26th: Phil McAndrew, Kim Hoang and Kate Beaton will all be in Toronto rocking it out at Canzine (1-7pm @ The Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen St. West).
